2016 American film directed by Gabriele Muccino. An adaptation of Chris Gardner's book of the same name.

What it takes to achieve your dream?
Obstacles are real hurdles or the stepping Stones?
For all those happy blamers, this would be a real tight slap.
Where there is a will there is a way.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

1979 Italian film directed and enacted by Roberto Benigini. Academy award winning film.

This one is a real gem. Sings of hope and love in a state of despair and horror. Father uses humor to represent the harsh realities of war to his son. Life is all about the way you see. A must watch!

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON

2013 Japanese Film directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda.

No cheesy sentimentalities. A gripping tale.
Desperate parents realize their  biological son is switched with another. Will upbringing and the ways a child is raised cause a significant difference despite the genes it is supposed to possess?

2010 Canadian film directed by Denis Villeneuve.   Adapted  from the play of the same name by Wajdi Mouawad.

Twins set out a journey to find the hidden truths about their mother. A dark, powerful and haunting thriller.

PERFUME

2006 German film directed by Tom Tykwer
Adapted from the Fiction of the same name by Patrick Süskind.

A man knows and learns all about smell. Attempts to master the art of containing the exuberant scent. No blood shed. Yet a haunting thriller for obvious reasons.

KNIVES OUT

2019 American film by Rian Johnson.

A renowned writer commits suicide. Every family member is held accountable.  The satisfaction you get once it is untangled is inexplicable.  A cool kind.

  How do we measure someone’s kindness? Here  are three incidents involving people whose faces I don’t remember.  Even if  I met them again by chance, I am unsure if I would recognize them, yet their presence in my life is remarkably significant.  THE ONE WITH THE BIKE ACCIDENT  When I was a student at Presidency college, I used to take either 27H or 40A to reach Annasquare, via Triplicane bookshop lane. Everytime I go across that area, the city dwellers on either side of the road will be proceeding with their routine. Around  7.30am, the bus will cross the lane, I wouldn’t have had breakfast, the smell of dried fish will make  me unpleasant, I will be stern and will not turn on either side, wait for the bus to pass that area.  One day, after paying PhD enrolment  fees at Madras University, I rode back to my home crossing that lane, there was a lorry in some distance and strangely a hanging wire fell from the post on a moving loaded lorry, I stopped my bike as the lorry moved forward,

Postpartum Blues

  Postpartum Blues       I don’t know if I am usually like this, or my howling has got something to do with my postpartum depression.  Recently, I find myself deeply vulnerable, sensitive and I long for a loving, comforting, acknowledging, appreciating cocoon. I feel lonely quite often nor do I enjoy the company. In the recent quarrel episode, I was scared about myself. The self- harming and self-loathing thoughts I had were so terrifying.  I tried to recall the trail of events and string of thoughts to bring  a rationale to my outburst. I am writing this to come in terms with myself. If I am angry, the following can happen: 1.     I hurt myself or the one i love, deliberately. 2.     My emotions and thoughts take control over me. 3.     I want compassion, but show no signs of receiving it. 4.     I want it to stop, but i will have to be the person to utter the last word. 5.     Once my threshold is hit and nozzle is open, it just pours.
